Thank you
This is just a quick note to say thank you. The response that we received from our last newsletter was so overwhelming after what were some of the hardest days of the past two years. We not only reached our goal of £10,000 for these emergency repairs but surpassed it, with donations coming from all around the world. Building materials have been ordered and work will commence on Wednesday, after which we will send a further update with photos. For now, I just wanted to express the deepest possible gratitude to everyone who donated or shared our campaign, to those who mobilised and fundraised for it, and to those who sent messages of support. Being able to call our contractor in Derhachi and tell her that work will commence was one of the most joyful experiences imaginable. When is so much destruction being done in the world, to be able to fight it with rebuilding is so powerful. The hope that these combined efforts have provided this community can’t be put into words; the repairs in themselves are live changing — but more than that the knowledge that a small army of supporters from the UK, US, Australia, Spain, and so many other places came together to help in their hour of need is such an important thing. The news in Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region is currently consistently awful, and being able to provide a little light in all that darkness is an honour. Thank you all. Please keep supporting us as we continue our work.
