U.S. military has gotten "hyper-politicized" and "sexualized
This is a sobering wake-up call as we honor Independence Day
A former U.S. military officer is warning that the armed forces have been subject to radical change in the last few short years, particularly when it comes to sexuality and LGBT issues.
Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier, who was removed from his position in the Space Force in 2021 over similar remarks, recently told The Epoch Times that the military has become a “hyper-politicized and sexualized work environment.”
"One can make arguments that the military became more political during the Clinton, or during the Obama administration," he explained. "But something radically, fundamentally shifted under the current administration with Lloyd Austin in the seat as secretary of defense."
In May of 2021, Lohmeier gained national attention after his comments that Austin’s approach towards “diversity, inclusion and equity” was rooted in Marxist critical theory. He was ousted from the military later that year.
He explains that many members of the armed forces try to take an apolitical approach but this alone is interpreted as political.
These service members, he said "are finding themselves in a hyper-politicized and sexualized work environment at the moment” but that if they oppose the Department of Defense’s hyper-political initiatives, they "are labeled as politically partisan and simply ‘part of the problem’ and are ostracized for it.”

The National Hockey League has officially put an end to LGBT “pride” themed jerseys, citing the fact that players wearing them on the ice has turned into a “distraction.”
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman told Sportsnet that the league will no longer have players don the rainbow-colored jerseys for events like “pride night.”
"Our clubs, in some form or another, host nights in honor of various groups or causes. We rather them continue to get the appropriate attention that they deserve and not be a distraction," he explained.
He clarified that players are free to create their own specialty jerseys to draw attention to charities or issues of their choice.
"Players who choose to model them can do that. It's really just the question of what's on the ice,” he said.
Earlier this year, The Christian Post notes, then-Philidelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov, refused to wear a pride-themed jersey for warmup, citing his devout Russian Orthodox faith.
Then, San Jose Sharks goaltender James Reimer and Eric and Marc Staal, brothers who both play for the Florida Panthers, followed suit.
Reimer, who sat out of a game against the New York Islanders in March, said that he had “no hate” for anyone but would not support anything that countered his deeply-held Christian convictions.
"For all 13 years of my NHL career, I have been a Christian, not just in title but in how I choose to live my life daily,” he explained. “I have a personal faith in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for my sins and, in response, asks me to love everyone and follow Him."

A Loudoun County, Virginia school official accused of lying about an on-campus rape that took place in a school bathroom has been acquitted by a jury.
Loudoun County Public Schools Public Information Officer Wayde Byard had been charged with felony perjury after prosecutors say he lied under oath about the sexual assault of a teenage student.
In 2021, a female student was raped by a male student who was said to have been wearing a skirt at the time of the assault.
School officials later came under fire for claiming that they had no record of sexual assaults in campus bathrooms at a heated school board meeting where many parents took vocal objection to the trans-friendly bathroom policies.
The father of the victim was notably arrested for becoming irate during the meeting upon his consternation to hear officials deny the incident so blatantly.
A number of witnesses testified during Byard’s hearing, offering varying degrees of support that he may or may not have told others about the incident before later telling the grand jury he had not been aware of it.
Despite his acquittal, Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares, who commissioned the grand jury report on the matter, was “proud” that the judge agreed to hear the case.
"Lying under oath undermines our justice system and must be taken seriously," a spokesperson for his office stated. "While we are disappointed with the jury's decision, we're proud of our team for uncovering the truth and providing answers to concerned Virginia parents."
Yes it is alarming.
