I got kicked off twitter years ago for insulting one too many right wing nutters. (Never hurt their feelings, snowflakes all) May Twitter die a slow, painful and for Elon Musk, expensive death.

You got kicked off from the previous regime then and not under Musk ownership. Of course you support free speech only when you agree with it... which means you don't.

If you think Elon Musk cares one whit for free speech you are kidding yourself. Just tweet an insult at him and see how tolerant he is. As for the prior owners, it took massive public outrage, and likely major threats from advertisers, to get Trump, his lackeys, and who knows how many racists and outright nazis banned. And just for grins, Musk reinstated Nick Fuentes a couple of days ago, and has already banned him again. Social media is a cesspool. And with Trump coming back to Facebook and Twitter, a cesspool that is an insult to cesspools everywhere.

You are your political ilk take the trophy for cesspool. You have TDS and the toxic woke mind virus. Get help.

The only help I need is for trolls like you to go back to Russia where you belong. And take the Tangerine Terrorist with you. In short, fuck off.

As long as we subscribe to the right versus left paradigm, we will not see that the real struggle is the people versus the 1% who are pulling the strings. You started to see this at Davos. Keep digging and maybe look up Whitney Webb to see the big picture. She pulled on the string of Jeffrey Epstein, and followed it through to two well documented books.

How does one convince a RW'r of the real conspiracy going on that doesn't involve Hunter Biden?

Expand full comment

ha! I wish I knew the answer to that. I am not very successful at convincing anyone of anything 😕 sure, the right wing and the left wing are parts of the same bird, let me know if you have convinced anyone of that, and how you did it!

I realize "self-promotion" is frowned upon, but I write satire and skewered the Davos crowd a few days ago. You might enjoy it: https://agowani.substack.com/p/davos-for-the-davos-crowd

thanks! that was fun!

That was great!

To make matters worse, the Davos elite knows how dangerous COVID is, downplays it for the rest of us, because if we knew, it'd make for bad business.

Glad you enjoyed it! And unfortunately I'm completely unsurprised by the precautions imposed at Davos.

I love the work Judd and others do, but I process the world best through humor. Laughter is the best medicine -- allegedly.

Gotta laugh to keep from sobbing hysterically.

Indeed. We are on the same team, but the RW'rs insist that they are on some other planet full of God and money and apple pies and shite that WE are f-ing up for them!

l know... it's pathetic. Our masters really know how to pit us against each other. And why do they get the pie 🤔

I think you have missed Ms Ehrich's point while at the same time proving it.

Adam my GOP Congressman who voted against certifying the 2020 Presidential election spoke on my CBS affiliate over the weekend that the reason the Classified docs at the two locations is so important: Hunter Biden had access to them.

I kid you not.

I am still watching 60 Minutes but I have abandoned the bias of CBS local affiliate and CBS Evening News. Trump could shoot some one on 7th Avenue and get by with it. Biden would be publicly hanged in the Elipse.

Probably the same way you teach a partisan Democrat that the Hunter Biden laptop wasn't a Russian disinformation campaign or that Trump isn't a Russian supersoldier.

Facts don't seem to help in the face of confirmation bias, I've found.

Complete an investigation on him to determine if there is any crime or not. Trump has endured multiple and it is a big nuthin' burger. So how do we convince a LW's that the real conspiracy does not involve Donald J. Trump nor any of his children and son or daughter in-laws?

OMG this is delusional . Fascism is rising because of the RIGHT !!!

Because of money. All they want is more money and they want to keep what they have, and make more. It’s always always been about the money.

The silencing of legitimate journalism on Twitter is undoubtedly concerning, but I'm still stuck on DeSantis's actions. Pretending to care about indoctrination and grooming when Matt Gaetz is serving in your state...it would be laughable if it weren't affecting kids' education.

And I hope you are posting this follow up story on Twitter as I write. Excellent reporting! Pass the popcorn. And, thank you.

I always thought that Elon Musk was a bit of a chump, but now that he's dropped his shielding cloak, my disdain knows no boundaries.

I quit Twitter. Really enjoying the community at Post.

Same here. I got off about a week after Elon took over. I'm happier and much more productive now.

I walked away from Twitter the day after the self-proclaimed "Chief Twit" allowed professional Jew-hater Andrew Anglin back on. Didn't delete my account, but I have not gone on the website since, and won't even click on links that people send to me if they are from Twitter. I refuse to give that a--hole the website traffic.

How easily information is twisted into misinformation! It is a cruel irony that we live in the so-called information age. Thanks for working to inform.

Musk fired qualified personnel that monitored Twitter, so where are “Community Notes” coming from? Accuracy isn’t an issue--Musk is simply targeting investigative journalists. He’s gone from outright bans to throwing shade.

That’s why I quit Twitter. The playing field is tilted and disinformation is baked in.

Anyone who has been through a censorship debate knows how the "vetting" process can be manipulated. The contextual note added by Twitter actually supports your original story. Sadly, this is not just an artifact of Twitter's current thumb-on-the-scales editorial policy, but it is also representative of how difficult, if not impossible, it is to have a meaningful debate about serious issues via brief snippets of text.

Expand full comment

The contextual note says all books aren’t being removed from libraries when in fact, that’s exactly what is happening because nobody has time to vet all the books before classes start. There must have been enough complaints because the misleading community note was removed when I looked last night.

In other words, the threat of prosecution was effective in promoting censorship, as intended.

Musk has proven himself time and again to be an impulsive extremist in his statements. He also believes that all his employees should still be in the office working at 9pm so he doesn’t care about them or their kids. Nothing he says should be taken seriously and the longer he stays in charge of Twitter the more damaging it will be for the platform.

Expand full comment

I think we are past that point. Twitter now is in the hands of crazy people and there is no debate with them. Walk away and let it die because it will now.

Elon musk isn't brilliant and he doesn't have all the answers.

Hey, as they say, the truth hurts. De Santis needs to be called out on his insane stance on AP-African American History, once again, the truth hurts. As to Musk and Twitter, much like Facebook, hide their head in the sand, but rake in millions…talk about fleecing

OK, IM paying for PI subscription. Twitter has been a source of toomuchinfomation and NOISE for me to follow. But someone must hold the "free speech" owner of Twitter to account. That Free Speech is for ALL. E pluibus unim.

I absolutely believed Community Notes was one of the most promising features out of development. But it appears the methodology did not anticipate a significant shift to the right and some of my notes that were previously posted as “helpful” shifted to “not helpful” as right wingers weighed in to protect falsehoods.
