These students and their peers had a tough assignment in one of Counselor Corrie Sass’ classes at the middle school—be Dear Abby for a day! Sophia Burg, Mia Durham, Reese Grife, and Zander Mancini answered a letter where the writer wanted to know how to respond to someone who had a crush on them, but the feelings weren’t reciprocated. Tough assignment! Below is our interview:
Winnie-the-Pooh provided instructions.
Above is another letter some students had to answer. These are tough questions that help the students prepare for life.
Above are some of their classmates working on their Dear Abby responses. An excellent thought exercise where students learn empathy, problem-solving in personal relationships, and much, much more. Everyone has their “thinking-caps” on!
Above are some photos from the recently held Panther Planning Night, where parents, students and staff gather to discuss how to best launch their high school careers—and their lives.
Success takes planning!
