The FFA club has had great success this year, and I sat down with Marley Larson, Karlie Pettyjohn and FFA advisor Tiffany Johnston to learn more about it. Mrs. Johnston says:
Marley has been selected as the top Service Learning Proficiency Award recipient in the state and moved on to Nationals and Karlie Advanced from our sub-districts for Contest and Job Interview and got a gold.
Marley says it is the fourth year for the Suicide Prevention Horseshow at the fairgrounds she organizes and it has raised approximately $35,000 for suicide prevention. Last year’s message was “Tomorrow Needs You.”
Karlie shares what it takes to do a good job with creating a resume and how to do a good job interview. I surprised her with the silly question, “If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?” Her answer was most excellent. Here is our interview:
I don’t care what the calendar says, it’s spring!
Art is everywhere in the Knoxville schools.
Speaking of being everywhere, so are the maintenance crews! Here’s Ross Iddings who was helping fix a plumbing issue at the middle school.
Here’s Craig Mobley working on a project.
I had a great interview with Bristol and Prier in Jessica Gullion’s class at Northstar. They both say math is their favorite subject, and love Mrs. Gullion. Here is our interview:
These girls were working on the final scene of a movie with Mrs. Bauer. Looks like a fun movie.
Mr. Heetland demonstrates the new piano for me. He tells me about how the piano was acquired and how grateful he is to work in the Knoxville School District where the arts are supported. Here is our full interview:
