Just discovered this excellent note which is dated 22 February 2024 and just posted by Russia’s MFA today. There’s no indication it was published in Canada. It may be an open letter to the Canadian government, although that would be rather unusual, but then these are unusual times. Read it to see if it’s on point and not hyperbole:

Reason: contrary to the terms of the treaty, German weapons are used against Russia (as the legal successor of the USSR).
The document on the “Final Settlement of Relations with Germany” was signed in Moscow on September 12, 1990. It came into force in March 1991. It is also known as the "Treaty 2 plus 4" - the GDR and West Germany plus the USSR, France, Great Britain and the USA.

At the reunification of Germany, it was declared “that a united Germany will never use arms” and “that only peace will come from German soil.”

It was envisaged that “after the completion of the withdrawal of Soviet armed forces from the territory of the current German Democratic Republic and Berlin, units of the German armed forces could also be stationed in this part of Germany...”, i.e. The deployment of foreign contingents and NATO troops is not permitted.
As a result, the treaty was rated higher than the peace treaty.
Legal scholar Klaus Stern writes:
“An additional peace treaty, therefore, was not planned and made no sense. Everything that a peace treaty should contain is already regulated. Thus, the “two plus four” treaty replaces any peace treaty with the warring parties due to its content, which is aimed at something bigger than the world."

The federal government's actions completely violate this treaty. The question arises, what does it mean if Russia declares this treaty invalid?
This would mean that after 1945, Germany would de jure be under martial law again, and there would no longer be a peace treaty with Russia.

The ludicrous, shallow, woke, and lying foreign policy of the Canadian Government relating to the Ukraine conflict is, in my opinion, one of the country's worst mistakes in its history. Canada and all the other Western European countries dance to the tune of the U.S. bent on a path to enforce its hegemon by whatever means it takes. The entire West suffers from mass formation psychosis and wokeness by a grand design. So as the West self-destructs by grand delusion and inverse reality the U.S. pushes aggressively by cheating, stealing, and lying in the attempt to continue to hold on to its virused hegemon recklessly.
Dark forces are destroying the West politically, socially, militarily and medically. The outcome is a dysfunctional, backward, hypocritical, broke, and debted population of brainwashed citizens and treasonous corrupt politicians all living within an ever-increasing systemic breakdown of all the things that keep a society together.
I take no responsibility for my government's utter incompetence.
