I read with horror this morning that B&NES (neighbourhood & Environmental Services dept) have a contract in place with Tom Ledbury Maintenance and Installations Ltd, to maintain street furniture and park infrastructure.
Tom Ledbury is a terrier man with the nefarious Avon Vale hunt, who were recently banned from operating by their regulatory body The British Hound Sports Society, for illegal hunting activities involving the digging out of a fox and throwing it live to hounds to ravage.
Tom Ledbury was this week found guilty in court of committing illegal hunting acts and sentenced to undertake 240 hours of community service.
I would be interested to hear the Council’s reaction to this news and would seek reassurances that you will look to cancel this contract or at least commit to not renewing it in 2025.
To have council tax payers money paid to a convicted criminal is not acceptable and it brings the Council’s reputation into disrepute.
The punishment handed out is beyond pathetic, suspended sentences and fines aren’t going to deter these vile miscreants, they need serious custodial sentences. All the negative attention being shone in their direction however is brilliant, thanks to the legends and PTW, once again allowing the masses to discover how these lowlifes treat our wildlife. Putting faces to the names is also good to see. The more of us on here that contact the council about Ledbury’s contract the better.
Hate them with a vengeance! I read in the March issue of the south west farmer, how a poor fox had got stuck on a slurry lagoon in Warminster. The Farmer got the fire service and RSPCA and the Fox was saved. Just thought you could all do with some good news for a change. And Warminster being my roots, it was a special to hear that there are some good people out there.
How can these people find any enjoyment in these brutal acts? Pure evil. I dont often wish people ill, but I wish these bastards were ripped to pieces by a pack of wolves.
