Hey Notion friends,
I wasn’t expecting the new feature Notion pulled out this week… but I have to admit it can be extremely useful if you like to illustrate your Notion pages with images.
Also, I am sharing a few other little updates that you might have missed.
In this week's edition, you'll find:
Overview of 2 new image editing features to enhance the look of your pages
2 tips to add Figma files to Notion Calendar events and filter page comments
Spotlight of the Small Business OS to help business owners manage projects, clients, finances and more.
Let's get to it!
News: Crop + Mask Image Features
Now, we can tweak our images right there in Notion without needing any extra tools! Let me walk you through this cool update that'll to help you spice up your pages.
Crop Images
Notion now allows you to crop your images directly in the app. It's easy to use, so you can tweak and improve your pictures without having to go anywhere else.
Mask Images
Notion has also added another feature that makes it easy for you to highlight the best parts of your pictures. You can pick different shapes like circles, squares, or your own designs to point out the important spots.
By the way, I love the "distracted boyfriend" meme to illustrate those features here 😉
2 Handy Feature Updates
Let’s dive into a couple of cool new updates in Notion and Notion Calendar!
Figma Files in Notion Calendar Events
Just in case you missed it, you can now pop Figma file links right into the events in your Notion Calendar.
This is a handy feature for anyone who uses both Figma and Notion Calendar in your daily workflow. It lets you keep your design work and your scheduling seamlessly connected.
If you're collaborating with a team, it becomes incredibly convenient as everyone will be able to see and access the Figma designs that are relevant to specific calendar events.
Filtering Page Comments
This update is for those who have a super chatty team on your hands. So, yes, let’s talk about the comments section now.
Now, you can filter and sort through their comments on a page!
Adding this feature is really useful, especially for teams. Take a developer, for example. They only have to review the designer's comments now before they begin to code. They can ignore everyone else's feedback by just selecting the designer's comments – it's that simple!
To sort through your comments, click on the "View All Comments" button located at the top right of the page. Then, just below it, click the "Filter" button. That's it!
