I'm noticing a disturbing trend in historic documentaries and historical research, namely a willful omission of facts which challenge the Establishment narrative. The "History Extra" segment is just one of a list of many such documentaries, books, and articles, which attempt to put a certain spin on controversial historic events. They do not necessarily push falsehoods but deliberately omit certain facts which contradict the official story.

On the matter of the main source for the BBC piece, "Case Closed", it should be known that the book is not completely the work of Gerald Posner. The real force behind its creation was Robert Loomis, chair and head of Random House publishing. In the wake of the Oliver Stone film "JFK" like other members of the Establishment, Loomis was outraged, and saw the film as a direct challenge to the integrity of America's institutions. He therefore took it upon himself to stop this alternative view by publishing what he considered the final word on the JFK assassination.

Gerald Posner was at the time an attorney who was also a historic researcher and writer. To the best of my knowledge, he had only published one work before being chosen by Loomis to write "Case Closed". During his research, Posner was granted unprecedented access to Government documents and allowed to interview those involved with the Warren Commission and from other Government agencies.

The release of "Case Closed was also deliberately timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the JFK assassination. It was then given a massive media campaign the likes of which had never been seen before for a non fiction work. "Case Closed" was everywhere in print and broadcast media, and Gerald Posner was interviewed on all the major TV networks and by all the mainstream news sources.

He then became the "go to" source for anyone to ask on the subject of the JFK murder.

It should also be known that Random House President Robert Loomis's first wife had previously been the secretary for CIA Counterintelligence Chief James J. Angleton.

The Empire definitely did strike back.

That's a great and well deserved smack down. Thank you.

There is one reason and one reason only why someone would write such an incredibly sloppy, mistake prone, account. No one is that ignorant or stupid. They are paid to do so.

Looks like accurately reporting the facts of the case, rather than continuing to mime the WR's conclusions, opens a can of worms the MSM just doesn't want to deal with.

Phenomenal article. This brings to mind a question I had from the interview you did a few months back with the daughter of one of the doctors. She seemed to dismiss Dr. Crenshaw and even expressed disdain for him, pretty much calling him a liar because she believed he wasn’t even there. I have to admit I stopped listening to the interview after I heard her say that. What did you make of her statements re Dr. Crenshaw?

No reason to believe there's any credible case to show Lee Harvey Oswald shot anyone at all that day, neither JFK nor Patrolman Tippit. No legally useful chain of possession even connects him to the alleged assassination rifle, and it just gets worse from there - over a dozen hours of interrogation of Oswald on Friday and Saturday - no records, no notes, no audiotapes, NOTHING, likely because Oswald was emphatically denying he shot ANYONE, which is also a huge problem of "motive" for the "lone nut seeking fame and attention" bilge, and credible witnesses working in the Scott-Foresman offices on the 4th floor with exculpatory "alibi" evidence the Warren Commission ignored and even distorted:

'The Killing Floor', based on the book 'The Girl on the Stairs' by author Barry Ernest, is the very true story about a young woman named Victoria Adams, whose experiences stemming from her work offices on the fourth floor of the Texas School Book Depository on November 22nd, 1963 - the date and time of President John F. Kennedy's assassination - cast a whole new look as to whether or not the historically accepted killer, Lee Harvey Oswald, was ever in a position to commit this heinous act. Ultimately there were four key women who had a major impact on revealing previously hidden truths in this matter. This is also the story of Barry Ernest who, as a young student dropped out of college to pursue the truth behind the murder of President Kennedy. Barry spent over 3 decades pursuing the elusive Vicki Adams, who dropped off the face of the earth following her experiences in Dallas, Texas.

My name is Rich Negrete, and I am the creator of this video. I was fortunate not only to get the blessing of Barry Ernest to share his story in a visual fashion, but to be guided by his knowledge throughout.

NOTE: My initial goal with this channel 'What Happened to JFK?' was to put out a series of videos dealing with various aspects of the JFK assassination. Due to personal circumstances, this has been put on indefinite hold. Because of this, I added some additional material to 'The Killing Floor' (such as The Magic Bullet section) that was intended for a later episode. It is my hope these additions add to the story at hand.

Hopefully, in the future, I can resume future episodes. I hope you enjoy it!

Sincerely,

Rich Negrete

Note: There are some names spelled incorrectly (and/or inconsistently) but the video's key details and train of reasoning is lucid and entirely relevant to Oswald's alleged movements after the shots were fired in Dealey Plaza - Oswald always maintained he was on the 2nd Floor of the TSBD, eating lunch, and that's consistent with the evidence presented by Victoria Adams, Sandra Styles, and their supervisor Dorothy Garner, about watching the motorcade and both Vicki and Sandra running to get down the stairs.

The elevator was not working , that would fit with shooter and assistant firing from the 6th or another floor, and descending via ropes thrown down the elevator shaft, possibly with the spotter / assistant keeping and secreting the ropes elsewhere - JUST A THEORY! but more plausible than the tottering house of cards in gale force winds that is the "Oswald was the assassin" theory, as opposed to being a patsy kept under surveillance and having his mail opened to make sure he was clueless as to the CIA's machinations, etc.

Outstanding article Jeff. However, I believe Project Mockingbird lives. Goes hand in glove with the “Transparency Plan.”

As a Brit I can tell you that the BBC was never a monolithic news organisation of the highest quality. It’s much more like how we’ve come to understand the CIA: as a complex patchwork quilt of many different areas and departments, often compartmentalised, often oblivious of each other, often in outright conflict. Yes, there are some outstanding journalists in the newsroom; but there are also many writers and editors producing “magazine” shows or segments that are much more like the National Enquirer than a serious news source - and all from adjacent but unknowing offices in the same huge Shepherds Bush studios.

Again like the CIA, then, the BBC is often a truly dysfunctional bureaucracy, where lowly-paid staff produce material on short timelines for editors who are already thinking of the next segment. And it’s much worse now, because the Internet means they can knock out these pieces in days - you just cut-and-paste Wikipedia.

So yes, you’d expect better of History Extra… but you’d be disappointed. Constantly. They’re not Mockingbird. They’re not the DIA. They’re just not very interested but they’ve got to do something because someone’s told them to.

On the subject of Posner -

I vividly recall him being interviewed on the Today Show or a similar outlet as part of his book tour for Case Closed. The host asked him whether he worried people would dismiss him as just another author in search of a big pay day and fame. In a moment of either stunning naivete, ignorance or duplicitousness, he replied that had he REALLY wanted those things, he would have penned a book saying he'd solved the case in favor of conspiracy.

As surely Posner knew, no author of such a book had, certainly by that time, gained much of either, and he surely had to know that what he delivered was what officialdom wanted - a glossy, seemingly well-researched tome that placed the blame right back on Oswald where the WC had first placed it 28 years prior.

At that moment - at Posner's moment - there had been outrage over Stone's film, and the establishment cried out for someone to set the record straight. As I recall the reaction to his book, in the media and in DC was an almost orgasmic wave of relief and self-righteousness. See? We were right all along and now those conspiracy kooks can go study the Bermuda Triangle or something.

The money and fame, at that moment, was right where he looked for it.

I finished Win Scott Our Man in Mexico early last week.

Very impressive collection of historical facts. Very useful in that the information reveals JJ Angleton's keen interest in the goings on there in Mexico and Win had not had easy open access to JJA's information and instead was kept in the dark.

Jeff your method of deep diving into to the mundane and retrieving important nuggets adding nuance to clarify you positions seems to work very well for you.

When I finished the book my understanding of CIA activities was much clearer.

I'm now reading The Scorpion's Dance, over half way through I had to put it down for a bit.

I have to say after tearing through the Scott book and taking immediate aim on Scorpions Dance, I think I noticed something. Your efforts reveal the story at hand much in the way someone collecting intelligence might report and vet information. I might be exhausted when I finish dancing with the scorpions.

Great stuff that continues to point one in direction of finding the truth here.

Thanks Jeff and SS crew.

Great job Jeff! The BBC account is deeply flawed in the ways you show here, see also:

From Bad to Worse: Debunking Gerald Posner’s JFK Evidence

In his five-part dressing-down of Gerald Posner’s Case Closed, Martin Hay deems the chapters dealing with the assassination of President John F. Kennedy to be even worse than those on Lee Harvey Oswald. Click here for a systematic analysis of all the ‘JFK evidence’ featured in the 1993 book.

Case Closed 30 Years On: Even Worse - Part 1/5: Gerald Posner's Portrait of Lee Harvey Oswald

Written by Martin Hay

British researcher Martin Hay does a complete review of Gerald Posner's 1993 book Case Closed. After a very long examination he concludes that, in light of new evidence, the book is even worse now than it was then. This is likely the most complete critique of Posner in the literature. This is Part 1 of 5.

Thank you, Jeff, well said. I personally believe it's not naivete and ignorance that underpins the BBC's lies and disinfo, but longstanding connivance with the intel agencies, who controlled them during Operation Mockingbird,, and i believe, STILL controls them.

What about the X-ray evidence of JFK's skull, which experts say conclusively shows radiating fractures from a rear entrance wound? I don't know if the BBC report cited it, but why omit it here? Because it contradicts the grassy knoll theory. It's scientific evidence and is far more reliable than eyewitness testimony.
