Remember the old definition of Herd Immunity and Vaccine?, etc.etc.

Those are the scalpels.

The matter at hand is the blunt instrument.

Sep 19, 2022·edited Sep 19, 2022

Didya hear? Demented Joe told "60 Minutes" the pandemic is over. So why mandates?

This has been the play all along: the Administration does what it wants, and waits for a court challenge, which overturns its policies. In the short term, the Administration gets what it wants (airline masks, rent moratorium).

The other tactic is to arrest enemies. Even if the Administration loses, it bankrupts the defendants who are forced to pay lawyers.

And here we are with a challenge to the Administration's censorship.

The biggest problem is that it takes time to mount challenges, and for the legal process to churn.

This bunch is EVIL.

Yes. Well said!

And before you know it the public has accepted this as baseline.

Expand full comment

It would seem that the Biden regime is doing all the extra-legal things they accused Trump of doing: basically being a dictator and ignoring the rule of law. Biden's ignoring the overturning of the court's decision on the rent moratorium was particularly egregious, going DIRECTLY AGAINST a court ruling.

The saddest thing about all of this is the willful blindness on the part of the average Democrat voter. They are LITERALLY suffering Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Sad!

And why do I still have to wear a mask to see my dr., which I cannot breathe in be sure I have asthma.

Perhaps look for a different doctor. That could be a solution.

We have to do the little things like that.

Suggestion:

If you're able to find a doctor who doesn't require masks; then write him/her a 2 sentence letter why you switched. While also writing a 2 sentence letter, to your current doctor, that says; Masks Are Modern Day Phrenology. Found someone else that believes in real science.

DO NOT GET ME STARTED ABOUT MY FATHER'S PODIATRIST!

I must sit, MASKED, in the waiting room while my 92-year-old father has his toenails trimmed.

All the waiting room chairs are 8 feet apart! YET MASKS ARE REQUIRED.

The waiting patients are likely quintupled boostered AND masked...yet they feel "at risk."

Geez! Eight feet?! The seating in mine is still at six feet. Unless you can find one of those really wide seats, you cannot sit with whom you are with. My husband just sits either in the waiting room or in the exam room & puts his two cents in every now and then. Otherwise, he just listens to my discussion with my dr. & we are all masked up! And we are all sitting right next to each other. No seating distances in the exam rooms. Hmmmm....

Why don't you just take him to a nail salon? Merely trimming toenails doesn't exactly require years of rigorous medical training.

Expand full comment

Insurance covers the podiatrist. It does NOT cover a nail salon.

Expand full comment

I kind of figured that was the answer. With all due respect to you, that seems like an f-ed up part of the system. (You, obviously, are acting economically rationally.) I can only imagine that a nail salon would be MUCH cheaper than a podiatrist. But we live in an age where apparently you need to be a biologist to determine what is a woman. I'd imagine that the advanced training and degrees necessary to trim toenails must be far beyond that, hehe.

Although the freezing of protestors’ bank accounts in Canada was horrifying, at least there was a tiny bit of logic behind it. These specific people are doing things that we (just) declared illegal, so we’re going to punish them. It was bullshit that the government used emergency powers to basically unperson the protestors and their supporters, but you can sell this to the Canadian people. Almost.

That brings us to Russia. Biden has ordered the seizure of Russian yachts and other assets of people who have little connection to the Russian government. Numerous companies have pulled out of the Russian market (so much for “greedy businesses do anything for a buck”) in an attempt to show support for Ukraine or pressure the Russian government into submission, to be honest I’m not exactly clear. But stealing from and cutting off services to regular Russians doesn’t hurt the government. If anything, it makes Russians angry at us instead of Putin! How would you like to be ‘canceled’ over the actions of Joe Biden?

Fun Fact: When government can steal foreign yachts, your bank account is easy.

And given the US government’s recent collusion with social media to deplatform ‘spreaders of covid misinformation’ (who happen to have a track record better than the ‘leaders’), we should ALL be wondering if there isn’t more to this than “The companies all independently decided to pull out of Russia.”

This has already taken place, Commander. Laura Loomer got whacked from her bank account, Paypal among others. I'm not a big fan of hers but she didn't deserve this special status treatment.

In Europe, the Baltics and Poland are limiting visas from Russian visitors. Frankly, I don't care and since Russians are brainwashed there to back the "Special Military Operation" not to be confused with the Starvation Operation Stalin waged in Ukraine killing millions almost a century earlier; let them eat cake.

Russia is not a free society but is led by a dictator. The people are siding with him until further notice. So they can enjoy each other's company.

As for political actions against day to day life in the US, from banks to Paypal to GoFundMe, they all need a big fat boycott. It's worked in some instances to undo the deplatforming but this country is very close if not fully entered into a police state.

And those subject to permafrost (not an insignificant number, apparently) will essentially freeze shut and cannot be revived.

I am not one of those who believes that if the SC affirms the 5th Circuit decision--which they should--then these media megaliths will just accept it and obey. More likely they will just get more clever in continuing to do what they do now. More years ago than I care to recall, I was an IRS Official in the Chief Counsel's Office participating in a taxpayer's conference of right. At that time, I was but a lowly docket attorney. Counsel for the taxpayer made an argument on behalf of his client based upon a Supreme Court decision. The IRS official in charge of the conference matter of factly told the taxpayer's representative that "we don't follow that Court decision over here." When that happened, counsel for the taxpayer as well as myself must have looked like South Park characters with mouths open in disbelief. Well, I believe that the mentality of those who run the social media outlets possess a mentality not far removed from that time serving bureaucratic moron who uttered the stupidity in question. One of my goals as an IRS official had been to rise up in the organization sufficiently so that I could control the pathology level. Until the day I resigned, I had achieved my objective.
