Hello and welcome to the latest issue of the Spotify Newsletter!
A relatively quiet, low-key week down on the Spotify farm. The ‘big’ news is Spotify officially shuttering its Clubhouse copycat called Spotify Live. Spotify Live, the audio-only live conversation feature, was preceded by the sports-focused Locker Room.
So that happened and then we had a few days of ‘the death of live audio’ articles, which was interesting to read.
Needless to say, but the market for live audio apps was limited. Perhaps they’ll give it a second go later, but for now it won’t be in the form of any standalone app.
— Of all the playlists the Spotify Data Machine brews up for me, I’d like to highlight two: On Repeat and Your Time Capsule. Love ‘em! Just wanted to add that to the record.
