Good morning. Today we’re listening to Kali Malone, a Colorado-born composer based in Stockholm. We first recommended her in 2019. Her new record, Does Spring Hide Its Joy, came out last Friday, and features Stephen O'Malley on guitar and Lucy Railton on cello.
Strange territory; I am not sure if "like" expresses my feelings about this piece. It shifts from restful to unsettling from moment to moment. Too textured for background, yet without melody or beats. It engages, but "liking" isn't exactly the word that comes to mind.
