Hey friends,
Pull up a chair, grab a cuppa tea and get comfy. Today, I'm excited to share with you my gratitude list of amazing Substackers, Bloggers, and Instagrammers who are playing a crucial role in shaping this beautiful community. Together, we're on a journey to explore alternative paths for our children's education.
Perhaps you are a seasoned home educator or maybe you are curious about this way of life. These incredible individuals have become my go-to source for reassurance, inspiration, and a treasure trove of knowledge. They've armed and sustained not just me but my entire family for the unique adventure of learning outside the traditional school system and maybe they could offer you an insight into this way of learning too.
Let's celebrate and appreciate these wonderful souls who contribute so much to our shared quest for a different way of life for our families. If you have any favourites to add to the list, pop them in the comments so we can grow our community here on Substack and beyond.
Here are the peeps that spring to mind as I sit and write to you….there are of course many more so I may need to return with part 2! I’ve linked each person with their Substack, blog or Instagram but many cross over all platforms so follow their own links to find out more.

Thank you for reading The Other Path. I’m Elizabeth, living in Salisbury, UK, navigating life with my husband Justin and our three kids aged 6, 9 and 11. We're passionate about home education, with over 20 years of experience working with families and young minds. You will now find us creating learning communities and forest schools in the South of England. My Substack is a cosy space where I share the joys and challenges of our family's adventures in living a life without school, along with my passion for seasonal rhythms and micro adventures.
Wonderful resource! I'm excited to follow along. I plan to open a school in Asheville, NC in August 2024. Nature will be our teacher, I'm simply the guide. There will also be a huge focus on regenerative agriculture, soil health, and nutrient dense food. As we heal the Earth, the Earth will heal us. Everything we need is found in nature from healing our bodies and minds to learning life lessons. I'm excited for you and your family as you navigate creating forest schools. Yay!
Thanks for including me, Elizabeth! It's good to find you on here too! Will go explore some of the others you've named as well.
