Opening date set for Nordstrom Rack
Also, two new eateries added to The Davis Collection, and updates on other tenant plans

Happy first day of spring! There’s an abundant bloom of business news to report today. Watch for a second column with more breaking news tonight.
The discount store Nordstrom Rack will be first new tenant to open in The Davis Collection, the brand confirmed. It’s planning a May 22 launch.
The 25,000-square-foot store is the anchor tenant for the center, which replaces University Mall, 737-885 Russell Blvd. in Davis. I peeked inside on Wednesday and saw flooring installed but little else.
A spokeswoman for Brixmor Property Group, which owns and manages the mall, also confirmed the opening date, though she said it usually lets tenants handle that kind of news.
In 2024 and so far this year, the company has added stores in Elk Grove, Gilroy, Oceanside and San Mateo. Its portfolio includes 68 Nordstrom Rack stores, 23 Nordstrom stores, five Nordstrom Locals and one asos | Nordstrom in California. Davis Nordstrom Rack hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
Meanwhile, two new restaurants are listed on the center’s site plan. And other tenants like Calicraft Brewing Co. are relaying their target dates. Read on to learn more.
