Vance: Canada Doesn't Have The Cards To Win Trade War; Greenlanders Should Vote To Leave Denmark; SignalGate: Media Obsession, No-one is Getting Fired
Vice President Vance visited Greenland and attempted to smooth over relations and rebuild trust after weeks of horrendous scandals.
Speaking at a U.S. Space Force base alongside National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Vance delivered three striking messages that signal an attempt by the administration to significantly cool down the heightened criticism of their performance to date on several policy fronts..
Canada: "They Just Don't Have The Cards"
When asked about Canadian retaliation to Trump's tariffs, Vance dismissed our northern neighbor outright: "There is no way that Canada can win a trade war with the United States."
His message was blunt: "The days of America being the piggy bank of the world, the days of closed factories...are over." This confrontational stance comes as relations deteriorate following Trump's tariff announcements.
Greenland: Denmark Failed, America Must Step In
Vance laid out Trump's Greenland strategy with surprising frankness but toned down the threat of military invasion: "What we think is going to happen is that the Greenlanders are going to choose, through self-determination, to become independent of Denmark, and then we're going to have conversations with the people of Greenland."
He pitched directly to Greenlanders, claiming Denmark has "not done their job in keeping this area safe" and that Greenland would be "better having the United States security umbrella."
The message: Denmark failed, China and Russia threaten, America must take control.
