I found it! I think I had the title wrong - the poem is called “i was on beech avenue in vancouvr”

Hahaha that’s awesome. Though to be fair I wondered privately for along time (pre-internet) where and what Bohemia was. I’m pretty sure it was Marjan finally told me.
Bill Bissett spoke in my high-school (twice!) while he was poet-in-residence at UWO in the mid-1980s. They were quite interesting. For some reason he used maracas during one of his readings.
Sadly, I was too "square" to really appreciate what he was doing.
But I do remember laughing out loud (and arrogantly) when another student naively asked him about being from Bohemia (as one of our teachers had described him as a "Bohemian" before he arrived).
