The author appears to conflate culture for race/ethnicity, and his arguments all fail from there. He's hardly the first to do it. Those of us who have actually lived in multiple countries that all have a particular race/ethnic majority but vastly different cultures generally understand the distinction innately, but it's not a hard thing for anyone else to grasp if they just take off their race blinders for a minute and pay attention to the actual differences between people that most people respond to.

I have never heard anyone assert that the act of ASKING A QUESTION requires evidence to begin with. Moreover, if this was truly a hard line with the Intercept, it would have prevented numerous preceding Intercept articles which happily prognosticated on a great many Trump-related theories based on even less.…
99% of people would have caved in to this editor's demands & subsequent bullying, but Greenwald is the other 1% and of course I am going to support him and encourage others to do the same. I would strongly encourage everyone to watch GG's appearance on the JRE (Joe Rogan) as they have a really insightful conversation about the fault lines in play between the establishment / authoritarian media and their silicon valley allies and the new media that is emerging as people look for sources that they can trust and identify with.
