Here’s a Lunch Break Substack Tip

So

recently released an update to your dashboard, called Subscriber Reports.

I’ve been playing around with the reports and there’s one really powerful feature you may not know about.

On the right hand side, look at the “Audience Overlap” and do the following:

1. Check what categories these Substacks are in.

You may be in the wrong category.

For example, I write memoirs (sort of) and had myself in History. But after looking at my overlap, I realized I need to be in Literature.

2. Engage in their comment sections.

This overlap means their readers are more likely to enjoy your content. So get to know them!

3. Follow your Overlap Writers.

Study how these writers do everything. From Notes to Chats and other Substack features, you can learn a lot about how to grow your audience, because it worked for them.

Thanks for reading.

Quick Notes Tip

Restack what you want to remember.

Whatever I find fascinating, funny, or plan to reference later, I restack.

Restacks are much easier to find in your personal notes than comments or replies. Way easier.

Now, here is a picture I took last weekend, goofing around …
