I really enjoyed doing this little painting on paper, an idea from a 14th c. French manuscript. I called it “Uimoth and the Silmaril,” of fishermen navigating by the sight of Earendil, all while being guarded from below by Ulmo’s pet whale.
I loved the great profusion of elegant fins, which reminded me of the coelacanth.
