40 likes on this. Wow. Very humbled by the reception, especially from people whose roots seem to reach back to the South Asian regions I had in mind when writing it. I really don't take this kind of subject matter lightly and I'm happy it seems to have resonated.
Raising kids who think for themselves is risky business. It means letting go of the fantasy that they’ll see the world as we do. It means raising people who might push back, call us out, or dismantle the beliefs we once held as unshakable truths.
But isn’t that the point? Autonomy isn’t just about teaching them to think—it’s about having the guts to let them prove us wrong.
