Raising kids who think for themselves is risky business. It means letting go of the fantasy that they’ll see the world as we do. It means raising people who might push back, call us out, or dismantle the beliefs we once held as unshakable truths.

But isn’t that the point? Autonomy isn’t just about teaching them to think—it’s about having the guts to let them prove us wrong.

Changing your mind doesn't always mean you've abandoned your principles. It often means you've learned something.

It's better to contradict yourself and be accused of hypocrisy than to stick to your guns and sacrifice your values.

The hallmark of integrity is not consistency. It's honesty.
