Last week, I warned that if we spend too much time stressing about federal issues (for ‘24) that we don’t control, we may squander opportunities that are right at our fingertips to protect democracy and rights RIGHT NOW.
So this week, I’m going to emphasize some of the places and opportunities where you can make a difference NOW. And give you easy ways to take action.
First up is Ohio, and the measure (Issue 1) appearing on the Ohio ballot to enshrine Reproductive Freedom in our Constitution.
The bad news is that far right recently manipulated the ballot language to mislead voters, and is preparing a fall campaign full of the same disinformation that we saw with the Issue 1 from August.
The good news is that most Ohioans are pro-choice, and winning the special election in August gave that pro-choice majority the opportunity to win this October and November (early voting starts a month from today).
The other good news is that a major donor is MATCHING any dollars given to the Reproductive Freedom campaign (by the end of tomorrow) so that they can combat that misinformation. If you want to help, that means whatever you give will be doubled.

After that, we also need volunteers to help in any other way you can. As we learned with Issue 1, every phone call, door knock and postcard makes a huge difference in getting the vote out. So any help you can provide to make that happen, please do so.
