New Hampshire voters reported getting calls with an AI-generated voice impersonating President Biden, advising them against participating in yesterday’s primary election.’
In what Democrats have denounced as an “attack on democracy”, the recording told listeners that their vote “makes a difference in [the general election in] November, not this Tuesday”. The voice criticised the primary as “a bunch of malarkey”, echoing a term commonly used by Biden, 81.
“You know the value of voting Democratic,” the voice went on. “Our votes count. It’s important that you save your vote for the November election …Voting this Tuesday only enables the Republicans in their quest to elect Trump again. Your vote makes a difference in November, not this Tuesday.”
