A group of bungling kidnappers lured a Jewish music producer to a remote holiday cottage in west Wales to generate a ransom but were foiled when they failed to tie him to a radiator properly and he escaped.

Before carrying out the kidnap attempt, Faiz Shah, 23, Mohammad Comrie, 23, and Elijah Ogunnubi-Sime, 20, discussed their “intention of jihad” against Itay Kashti, an Israeli music producer and composer, who they believed had been on “pro-Israeli marches”.

Ogunnubi-Sime told his fellow kidnappers before the attempt: “Each one of us has 100 per cent faith in Allah, so we cannot fail.”
