I think I would implement this system if I could, but I don't control Substack (and even when I had my own WordPress, I wasn't technologically savvy enough to make it work).
That means that my only way of making sure people who don't want certain content don't get it is deleting it for everyone, which I regret.
I also sometimes delete things because people would freak out about it and this blog would lose reputation / ability to be cited in respectable places. I regret having to do this but I think on balance it's worthwhile, and I might continue to do it (to a lesser degree) even if the system I describe above were in place.
