This really nice Japanese Koto has incredibly weathered grain, to the degree that I find it hard to believe it is accidental. This thing is like a Stradivarius, it wasn’t a piece of decking. The Japanese of course have a special word and tool to intentionally create the undulating effect (uzukuri).
