It is frightening to watch this country devolve into a cesspool of Profit over humanity, Wrong over Right, and Free Opinion over facts. It is all too close to the change which occurred in Nazi Germany. Nobody believed that they would be a victim, just as Hispanics could not imagine that despite voting for Trump they would be equally at risk for deportation. Nationalism and extremism if very dangerous and a huge threat to Democracy.

With due respect, I think it's part of America's mythology that they have not always been a country that values Profits over Humanity; your entire economic system is set up and policed this way. Far more so than in Scandinavia or even here (Canada) where social democracy has at least a strong hopefully expanding foothold.
