A Substack Potluck… as someone who seems to live on black coffee and vodka… this is a challenge.
I should probably bring Yorkshire Pudding, seeing as how I’m from Yorkshire and it’s our signature dish. But my heritage is Scottish and French, and my surname is Russian. So… it all gets a bit messy.
So, I’m going to play it safe(ish) and go with a cake I used to make, but haven’t in a while. But I’d get the ingredients and bake one just for you guys.
It’s a chocolate and mint cake, made to my adaptation of my grandmother’s recipe. Chocolate and mint sponge, with a chocolate and mint buttercream filling and frosting, decorated with dark chocolate coated mint fondant sweets. It’s decadent and super rich. But it’s also super delicious.
Opening this up to anyone who’d like to bring a dish… but thinking maybe Happy Nielsen would bring some of her homemade bread?
