Pence was in charge of the Covid-19 task force. For some reason Pence has not been blamed for the Covid-19 task force results.
My impression from reading Atlas's account is that he had no idea what he was doing and just deferred to trusting Birx/Fauci and not rocking the political boat (which is where Pence's preexisting skillset lay).
I agree. My take away from Dr Atlas’ book was that Pence is a push-over who has no ability to think for himself.
