opesika thanks for the nomination
so I'm currently 65 pages in, on Patti Smiths ‘Bread of Angels’.
It's a memoir about her childhood, post-World War II.
It's incredible how vivid her recollection from the time she was 2 onwards, is.
Patti takes us on a journey of how her family grew and moved around 12 times by the time she was 5. She shares imageries of her wild imagination as a kid, how prone she was to sicknesses, her curiosity about religion and just how much she questioned everything in the Bible that her mum read to her, her relationship with her mum, as well as how she took care of her siblings, being the first child.
Up to this point, the book takes us on a journey of how friendships were fostered and lost, the quality of life back in the day, in USA,and so much more.
I didn't think I'd enjoy this book, but I so am.
The diction is quite easy and she vividly describes things in a way that feeds my imaginative mind, well.
