Here in Indonesia, the “smart guys” have yet to find a German philosopher they would repudiate whether that be Marx, Hegel, Kant, Nietzsche, or even Hitler. One of my law professors sounds like he’s doing an Arnold impersonations when talking about legal concepts because our legal system took so much from Dutch and German traditions. Even my grandmother who only finished high school would talk about reading books by Karl May.

Contra Samuel Huntington, we’re all children of the West now (adopted or otherwise). There isn’t a “clash of civilizations” any more than the overthrow of the Western Roman Empire by Odoacer - a Christian, a Roman military officer, and a client of the Eastern Roman Emperor - was a clash of civilizations.
