Without a doubt mine is Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll. I've read them repeatedly since childhood and always found them both disturbing and comforting—much like the world I grew up in.
They explore the chaos of growing up, the absurdity of adult logic, and the instability of identity through a dreamlike narrative. I suppose I’ve been falling down that same rabbit hole ever since, writing my own variations on identity, perception, and the stories we tell ourselves.
