A US agency boasted in an interview with Billboard about how it manipulates algorithms on TikTok and other social platforms in order to break artists. In turn, this all appears to have backfired spectacularly, and confirms to some fans that dead internet theory is real. I wrote a few thoughts on it all; why I get it, but why we also have to do better now and start dialling back our utter dependency on social media to break artists in 2026. Read on below…
