This week has been a very heartening week in seeing the fruit of ones writing.
Firstly, I find out that Olivia Marstall used one of my essays in her class for discussion and then I find out that one of my essays inspired Aaron to write this brilliant poem.
It is moments like this that make all the hours spent writing worthwhile.
Recently Hadden Turner wrote an essay on the importance of dwelling with wisdom rather than collecting and rushing by it. He got me thinking about what it means to dwell and savor the moments of life that we so easily miss.
The result was this poem. Here’s the first stanza.
"I want to remember the
small moments hidden
under rocks where success is
measured in single digits."
