Make money doing the work you believe in

So, who makes the change? If it’s not your responsibility, it’s their responsibility. Government should do something. Make someone else do it for me! This is the siren call as old as time. For over 2000 years Stoics have shown you the only way to actually fix the problem: It’s you!!

You have to vote for this

You have to read the book

You have to take action

You have to do something.

Jonathan Haidt motivated the elimination of cell phones in many schools by motivating the people, not the instiuttions. The second a mass of empowered individuals, a bunch you YOU did something, the institutions followed course.

The worst part of how this reads is it starts by describing children, and then extrapolating that because they’re not matured into their agency, we need to do something different.

It’s solution that’s been tried and tried and tried. From Puritains to Prohibition, this tactic actually backfires spectacularly because it’s always been about you. Because you have agency.

I wrote against this over two years ago and they’ve never changed course.

Andrew Perlot, Sam Alaimo, Patrick Van Horne, Kyle Shepard, Karina Schneidman MBA, MS, Kit Perez | Grey Cell Systems, Mark McGrath | OODA Synthesist , I’d love your thoughts on this!
