It’s not even surprising anymore. One corrupt sheriff (Culpeper County, Va’s Scott Jenkins, convicted of taking $75,000 in bribes) is pardoned by another corrupt sheriff, Donald J. Trump. Birds of a feather. As Karl Kraus put it, “Corruption is worse than prostitution. The latter might endanger the morals of an individual, the former invariably endangers the morals of an entire country.”
