i think language in terms of recursive syntax is pretty old. tho we probably got 'better' at it over time...looks like neanderthals and other lineages mixed with our own african proto-modern one and the mixing of the genes probably resulted in gradual change over our lineage.

but who knows? i don't know much about this stuff
