From 2022: "terra nullius" continues: British North America ("Canada"), Denmark, Russia.
We should all be questioning the legitimacy of claims from Russia, USA, Canada or Denmark of regions of Innuit Nunaat. Only being concerned about how "friendly" or not these colonial empires are to each other at any given moment, and who is allies with who during various European initiated wars (Hint: Canada/Britain and Russia were on the same side during WW1 and WW2, Denmark tried to remain neutral, USA was confusing as always and joined late theoretically on the same side as Canada/Britain/Russia) kinda misses the point.
"I wish the conversation were about how to provide protection of Innuit and other Arctic peoples FROM all of the southern colonial governments (Russia, United States, Canada, Denmark), and not pretending any of these Eurocentric governments are the one protecting the Arctic region and its peoples from those southern colonial governments."
