Make money doing the work you believe in

Recently I've been re-reflecting on this:"We have worshiped at the temple of hard effort for almost two decades. Many times we questioned our practice, reflected on 'the cost of these calluses,' and refined our approach...We got it wrong as often as we got it right. Physical performance waxed and waned as we tested boundaries and learned the appropriate dose...Although self-reflection and individual competence are pre-requisites, the illusion of self and the limitation of solitude is obvious to anyone who has tried to go it alone...Increasing fitness to get better at sport or recreation is somewhat silly unless you recognize the process as a reflection of life, which is a training ground...Capacity training teaches us to question our affinity for comfort. It reveals the truth of our capability. It illuminates our values and shows us a conceivable life experience; one where being out of breath doesn't limit our view, where we don't change directions because the path ahead is steep...Acknowledging the imminence of our end may help us recognize a new direction, a different way, one of our own choosing...When someone close dies, we feel a true sense of our own limited time. We begin to understand what is 'left in the tank' which changes our fear of our own end to fear of our own complacency...The voice commenting on the past screams the same thing as the voice aimed toward the future, 'get it done while you can -- because no one gets out alive.'"~ @gritandteeth #capacity
