Almost on cue! Last Friday I posted Part 1 of an article calling out the “kayfabe” of CrossFit orthodoxy. An organization that once postured as anti-establishment and grassroots is literally saber rattling to flex legal muscles they don’t have.
The company is still for sale. They’re bleeding affiliates. Games viewership (and participation) is crashing. Confident companies don’t make desperate proprietary power grabs.
I will have a Part 2 article looking at some methodological differences I have that thicken this plot. Recall that “all models are wrong, some are useful.”
PS: This has nothing to do with Drew, any particular CF gym, coach, athlete, or training methodology (which you can’t copyright — Section 102(b) of the US Copyright Act explicitly excludes any "procedure, process, system, [or] method of operation.”). It has everything to do with calling out hypocrisy and oligarchy.
