When people talk about “curing autism,” it hits a nerve.
My ex-teacher used to talk like that. He believed autism—and homosexuality—could be “cured” by practicing qigong. That kind of rhetoric does damage.
I have ADHD. I have dear friends with autism. I’ve taught hundreds of neurodivergent students over the years.
