I believe that not only cursive writing, but cursive writing with a pencil on scratchy low-quality paper helped kids learn to read and spell. That muscle effort plus the slow painstaking creation of each letter while saying the sound of the letter in your head or outloudβ€”and then blending it into the next connected letterβ€”how could this not be helpful?

I’ve been blown away by the quiet messages I’ve received β€” especially from people in the theater world β€” saying β€œThank you for saying what I can’t.”

That’s exactly why I wrote Think Again: What I Learned in My Theater Board’s Gender Debate.

It’s not just about pronouns or policy β€” it’s about how to speak up persuasively when the stakes are…

Yet another example of the kind of coverage that is so distractingly wrong that it makes it hard to focus on the supposed bigger issue. I continue to be mystified by editors who feel they need to do stuff like this

β€œDear Members of the Pulitzer Prize board,

My name is Emily Damari. I was held hostage in Gaza for over 500 days.

On the morning of October 7, I was at home in my small studio apartment in Kibbutz Kfar Aza when Hamas terrorists burst in, shot me and dragged me across the border into Gaza. I was one of 251 men, women, children, and elderl…

This made me emotional and simultaneously angry that even when we are slaughtered we have to share our story in detail to get sympathy, it’s so backwards

If you go into a bar and pay for a sign that says β€œfuck the Jews” and proudly show it everywhere and post it on your social media - you can expect that all of normal and polite society says fuck you back and wants nothing to do with you.

This isn’t cancel culture - this is you’re a vile pig.

"I always like to say, have a conversation and figure out what's reasonable. When we operate in extremes we lose our objectivity. I think that's what's happened with the DEI movement and the anti-racism movement. I'll see a lot of advocacy of things that just are not realistic in implementation. It's very idealistic. I want to talk about…

Dear JHK: This guy Martenson doesn't know shit. This is just crap. Why are you partnering with him? Get rid of him. It is the same sort of garbage I see everywhere else. I watched the whole damn five minute video, or most of it! I do not see Martensom offering anything new on why persons do not go into depth. Just another phony saying, "Oh, I am the one. Everybody should follow ME. ME ME ME. I go into depth." I have not seen it.

(Ah, but I think one needs to click on his name to find the video. It is a five minute video showing some anti-Tesla protests in Canada, and they do not want to debate the guy. Tough, huh?)
