I would argue the prose is quite good because my prose is quite good. It sucks because the outline that I made and fed to it simply was not a good plot. Do not underestimate my capacity for bad writing lol. I set tone and pacing because I wrote the outline and ultimately removed any hint of AI from it.

Curiously, creating the ideas, outlining, writing a second draft that was a complete and total rewrite (not an edit technically) and using AI for a single step of the process in between constitutes an AI written book? I’m okay with this, but I think that has to be pretty seriously justified.

I would have to say yes. AI did write your book, even though you rewrote and wrote over every word. You still used them as a guide in your writing, paraphrasing and such. AI set the tone and pace of your story.

I’m not surprised the books sucks as you say. This is what AI gets you. a hollow shell of a book, entirely lacking in creativity…
