Name and influential work (Novel, short story, poem, show or film) that has influenced your writing:

Of all the various reading we did in English class in HS, there was one bit that stood out to me and I carry its effect to this day. I would have to say it influenced me TO write because shortly after I read it, of my own volition in junior English class, I began trying to write:

William Cullen Bryant's “Thanatopsis”

My other influence would be Lovecraft. While nothing is have written is in the vein of either of those two, their literature left an indelible mark.
