As I suspected, unless I get a newer Mac with more RAM, this ON1 software probably isn’t going to be a viable replacement for Lightroom (which works surprisingly well, even when using the the AI noise reduction). ON1 on the other hand froze up and shut down a couple of times just on the first couple of pictures I edited.
Not a disaster though, I’m comfortable with how I use Lightroom, and I actually think the subscription for the plan I have (Lightroom + 1TB cloud) is a a reasonally good value at $11.99 a month.
I do like some things about this ON1 photo raw though, so I may just go ahead and pay the $49.99 to buy it when the 30 day trial is up.
Hmmmm. I don’t know if I want to learn a whole new software. But the economics of it makes sense, even though I would do the On1 subscription with 1TB of cloud storage. The Veteran price is only $89.99 a year (so less than Adobe). Plus, it appears that On1 has more capabilities with layers and effects.
