He fled violent gangs in El Salvador that were threatening him and his family.

A U.S. court protected him from deportation. He got a work permit, a job, a wife, and three kids. No criminal record. Then ICE deported him anyway—by "mistake"—and dumped him into a Salvadoran prison built to house the very gangs he ran from.

Years ago, Nina Simone called time a "dictator"...that's always stayed with me, because the truth is we've collectively agreed to its restrictions. What would life be like outside of time? A question I ponder frequently, as I've learned to surrender more and more to what the universe wants to reveal rather than trying to exert control. The answer is that outside of time in really just now. Presence is all we really ever have. 💗
