After a long wait, we are finally able to publish a 3-part, six hour conversation with one of the most intelligent and knowledgeable people I know: my father.
(You can listen to it dubbed in English or in the original Russian)
He's had a remarkable life:
In his mid-20s, he was making vaccines and working at a Soviet nuclear facility.
By age 30, he was a successful businessman who was recruited into the Russian government. The department in which he was a junior minister was tasked specifically with rebuilding the Soviet Union.
By age 35, he was living abroad and on the run under a cloud of false charges stemming from political disagreements over the direction of Russia.
Today, in his early 60s, exonerated of all the false allegations, he spends his time thinking and writing about history, geopolitics, the battle of civilisations, mysticism and a lot more.
My dad and I have different opinions of many things but he was always been able to talk about anything, including our differences. At points, the conversation was difficult as we see the world from different perspectives, especially when it comes to Putin, the war in Ukraine and Russian foreign policy but I think that itself will be illuminating.
In this episode, I did my best to show you what the Russian perspective of the war in Ukraine looks like. As you can probably tell, I do not agree with my father on this issue which is precisely why I think his perspective should be valuable!
Enjoy!
He would be a blast around a table and some booze… but winning an argument against him might be a monumental task…
I see a bit why you are the way you are now my friend…
I say this with respect, a Russian he is, in mind, education and spirit…
Seeing you talk from Russian East to your West was a treat…
Thanks KK, I know it took forever to put together and organise, thanks for the trouble.
Now you talk FF in dragging his mother in😂
What a legend. Thanks for sharing his wisdom and stories with us.
