Earlier this week, the Jan. 6 committee said Maryland Republican Rep. Andy Harris met with former President Donald Trump and other Republican members of Congress to figure out how to reverse the 2020 presidential election results.It was a big reveal at Tuesday's committee hearing and on Wednesday, the Maryland congressman serving on that panel talked with 11 News about what's to come.According to the Jan. 6 committee, Harris helped strategize about overturning the 2020 presidential election. Harris' name was made public for the first time this week at a hearing that was led by a fellow member of Maryland's congressional delegation, Rep. Jamie Raskin. And so there might be more information about that coming out," Raskin said.WBAL-TV 11 News reached out to Harris to learn more and he sent a statement in response saying: "I haven't had a chance to watch the hearing today. I was busy working on important issues like bringing down the price of gas and groceries and securing our communities against violent crime."On WBAL Radio on Wednesday morning, Gov. Larry Hogan said he doesn't know about the meeting, and didn't watch the hearing, but did call the former vice president a friend."And we're finding a lot of people were trying to get him to break the law," Hogan said.Raskin asked about the consequences of participating in that December strategy session. Should it exclude Harris and others from serving in and running for office?"I hope that we do make a recommendation about how to create a process for people who participated in insurrection and rebellion against the union. I mean, this is part of the constitution for a reason," Raskin said. Raskin said wouldn't "opine on any particular case or figure out who did what," because that's up to the courts. However, he said it's up to Congress to set up a system for the court to work from.
