The acting Defense Minister talked about the presence of Tajikistan and Pakistan fighters in attacks in Afghanistan.

Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid said that during their operations in recent years, several of these fighters were killed and dozens of others were arrested.

This official of the Islamic Emirate emphasized that ISIS has been defeated in Afghanistan and once again assured the commitment of the Islamic Emirate not to use Afghan soil against other countries.

The acting Defense Minister on the last day of 2023, in the news conference of the Security and Clearing Affairs Commission, in the government media center, while presenting the security achievements in the last 12 months, said that after the Islamic Emirate came to power, in most of the attacks on mosques, the monasteries, religious scholars and popular gatherings were carried out, Tajikistan and Pakistan fighters were involved.

Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid added that as a result of launching joint security operations, a number of these fighters have been killed and hundreds of them have been arrested.

Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid said: "After the Islamic Emirate came into power, the attacks on mosques, monasteries, religious scholars and public gatherings were all carried out by foreigners, especially the citizens of Tajikistan. Dozens of Tajikistan citizens have been killed in our operations and dozens of others have been arrested. Also, in the second step, Pakistani citizens have been involved in organizing many attacks. More than twenty Pakistani citizens have been killed in the operations of our security forces, and dozens of others have been arrested alive."

The acting Defense Minister continued to speak of a serious fight against ISIS and emphasized that they will defeat the seditious groups and destroy them.

He emphasized that any military action against the Islamic Emirate is considered a rebellion, and whoever rebels against the Islamic Emirate, the forces of the caretaker government are committed to destroy them.

Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid once again asked the neighboring countries to seriously control their land and air borders.

He said: “In Afghanistan, security is ensured throughout the country. The incidents of evil and seditious circles have decreased by 90% in the past twelve months compared to the previous twelve months. After the end of the invasion and corruption [coming of the Islamic Emirate into power], almost all of them have been suppressed.

Their operational networks have been destroyed, the leaders and designers of the bloody attacks and those in charge of their destructive networks have either been killed or arrested.”

The acting Defense Minister continued to add in a part of his speech that as a result of a serious fight against kidnappers, hundreds of kidnappers were arrested and killed and more than 200 people were rescued from their clutches.

He also gave statistics that the security forces have stopped 99% of smuggling of money, precious stones and currencies from inside Afghanistan in the past year.

Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid rejected the allegations about the smuggling and sale of weapons left by foreign forces and said that a commission has been created to maintain these equipments.

He added: “The Islamic Emirate has taken necessary measures in the area of preventing arms smuggling inside Afghanistan and from Afghanistan abroad. In the past two years, hundreds of smugglers have been caught and tens of thousands of weapons have been collected from irresponsible people. Now in some of the neighboring countries there are centers of production, smuggling and sale of weapons and they are operating.”

The acting Defense Minister also emphasized that 20 provinces of the country have a common border with six countries that have established 63 military bases, 108 military centers, and 600 security stations with all facilities and equipment to fight possible threats in these areas.
