“Instead of triggers I'd like to read about your glimmers. A sensory cue that signals to your nervous system that you are safe and connected.”

1. When somebody reads me correctly without me explaining myself 🥰

2. When I ask a question and someone responds with depth 😍

3. When one of my fosters does anything… any movement, any look… his entire existence is perfection and makes me smile 🐾

4. The feeling in my living room right now with the Christmas decor, dimmed lights, and candles 🕯️

5. A massage. Doesn’t matter if it’s a machine or a human 💆🏻‍♀️

6. Predictability. Predictable behavior. Such a rare and precious feeling to not have to figure something or someone out or worry about their behavior 🕜

7. When someone critiques my writing because it makes me feel like they actually give a shit 💩

8. The feeling of leveling up, getting better at something ✨

9. How my dog that passed made me feel safe every time I fell apart 🕳️

10. When the air smells like freshly mowed grass. Something about that makes me feel calm 🌱

What are your glimmers?

Well, what the Queen of Sophisticated Savagery wants, she gets… Thank you for the tag in this Anomie 🤍 In no particular order, my 10 glimmers are:

  1. Live performances of any kind (theatre, art, music, poetry) make me insanely happy. Would I get up there and do it myself? Hard pass.

  2. Antique books.

  3. Sour craft beers.
