Nothing can prepare you for losing a child. Our dear son Sam went home to Jesus yesterday after 8 months in the NICU. If you are a praying person, please pray for us. Very good news! Not only is Abrego Garcia alive, Salvadoran authorities, reversing their initial refusal, allowed him to meet with Senator Van Hollen, who called Abrego Garcia’s wife to “pass along his message of love.” The police-state machine blinking in the harsh light of global scrutiny?
A teacher at the school where my husband works said he shared my newsletter on writing by hand with his students to help them understand why they have to learn penmanship and turn in handwritten papers. I love that my writing might help them see the value and beauty in doing something difficult and countercultural.

I’ve got a job!
After interviewing for the job last week, I received a call from them yesterday.
“You were not successful in this role, BUT we have another role we want to offer you,” they said.
It’s not quite what I expected, but I have a job. A part-time job that fits around my writing and my family. I am so happy.

So interesting looking at artists' careers through the lens of their chart success as opposed to just musical criteria - I knew Frankie Vallie was important but wasn't aware of the longevity of his success.
As for the Beatles 'killing careers' - there may be some truth to this, but don't you think that they offset that by creating about a thousand *new* careers by inspiring every kid in the USA to pick up a guitar? Sure it was different than what preceded it but. . . that's what pop music is all about. Sure sounds different today than in 1964, or 1962 before the British Invasion hit, or for that matter the '80s & '80s.
